Ruth Eva Tallant, 96, of Cumming, died June 4, 2015.

She was born April 19, 1919, in Dawsonville.

She was the oldest living member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Her parents, Alexander and Julia Pilgrim; husband, George Leland Tallant; son, Donald Smith Tallant and brother, James Pilgrim, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Jimmy and Connie Tallant, Wade and Pam Tallant, all of Cumming; daughter, Beth and Donny Castleberry of Cumming; grandchildren, Jennifer and Derek Eberhart, the Rev. Greg and Emily Tallant, April Tallant and Harouna Koudougo, Meredith and Ricky Bryan, John and Emily Castleberry; great-grandchildren, Alex Eberhart, Andrew and James Tallant, Leah and Claire Bryan, William Castleberry, Sabane Koudougo.; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 6 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cumming with the Revs. Ruel Martin and Robert Martin officiating. Interment followed in Coal Mountain Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to The Senior Women's Sunday School Class at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
