Ruth Beatrice Rider

Ruth Beatrice Rider, 89, of Cumming, died Oct. 18, 2012.

Born in Oglethorpe, she was the daughter of the late Coile and Lillian Esco.

Ruth and her husband of 71 years, Eugene William Rider, lived in Roswell for many years before moving to Cumming.

She was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church.

Ruth enjoyed a career with Southern Mills and the City of Roswell.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her children, James E. and Gail Rider, Richard D. and Shirley Rider, all of Cumming; brothers, Clay Esco of Cumming, Basil and Sylvia Esco of Roswell; grandchildren, Greg and Jenny Rider, Kim Rider, Shelby and Ryan Gober, Genia and Marty Standridge and Rick and Logan Rider, all of Cumming; four great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 21 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Bennett officiating. Interment followed at Georgia National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Embracing Hospice House, 8013 Majors Road, Cumming, GA 30041 or the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
