Ruby Lucile McPherson, 96, of Canton, died Jan. 12, 2014.

A member of New Harmony Baptist Church, Ruby was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Ducktown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Ruby was a God fearing woman who prayed for and took care of many in the community.

She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Her husband, Golden McPherson; children, Ernest McPherson, James Harold McPherson; a brother; three sisters and two grandchildren, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Tean McPherson of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and James Adams of Jasper; son, Wayne McPherson of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Pam McPherson of Franklin; brother and sister-in-law, James and Loza Watkins of Cumming; daughter-in-law, Llenell McPherson of Butler; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Jan. 14 at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Purcell and Danny Orr officiating. Interment followed at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
