Roy Rade Garrett, 84, of Cumming, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009.

  

His parents, Joel and Grace Garrett preceded him in death.

  

He was a Mason in the Matt Lodge since 1950 and a deacon since 1962 at Concord Baptist Church.

  

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Doris Garrett of Cumming; daughters and sons-in-law, Trudy and David Ayers of Mt. Airy, Regina and Tony Bennett, Pam and Jeff Stephens, all of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Teresa Garrett of Cumming; sister, Hazel Turner of Dawsonville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ford and Mozelle Andrews, Lois Wallis, all of Cumming, Willis and Belle Pruitt of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Joey and Kayla Ayers, Taylor Garrett, Tracie and Philip Gibbs, Emily and Natalie Bennett, Kelli and Kyle Stephens; three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emma and Haylie; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25 at Concord Baptist Church with the Drs. Lester Cooper, Jimmy Orr and the Revs. John Lummus and Rubin Smith officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial gardens.

  

The Concord Baptist Church Deacons and Adult II Sunday School Class served as honorary escorts.

  

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Concord Baptist Church Building Fund, 6905 Concord Road, Cumming, GA 30028.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
