Roy Padgett, 70, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 18, 2010.

  

Born May 29, 1940 to the late Roy Vernie and Bessie Padgett, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

  

Mr. Padgett owned and operated R.P. Trucking, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a loving husband and father.

  

His son, Jonathan Padgett; sister, Evelyn McIntire; and son-in-law, Avery Godfrey, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his wife, Judy Padgett of Dawsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Gene Ray of Ellijay; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Felecia Padgett of Dawsonville; grandson, Justin Godfrey of Ellijay; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Revs. Jason Hamby and Dean Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
