Roy Lee Bennett, 90, of Cumming, died Aug. 6, 2010.

  

His wife of 70 years, Grace "Louise" Bennett; daughter, Madge (Bernice) Mount; parents, Ike and Mae Bennett; and brother, Doyle Bennett, preceded him in death.

  

Mr. Bennett was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was also a dedicated member of the Chestatee Masonic Lodge. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

  

Survivors include his daughters, Janet Childre of Rome, Sue Hall of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Ray Reid of Cedartown, Freddie and Arthur Milford, Vicki and David Stanford, all of Cumming; son-in-law, Gene Mount of Lindale; sisters, Irene Buice and Monteen Thomason of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Lane and Lela Bennett of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; beloved church family and lodge brothers; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 8 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gerald Blackburn, Monroe Gunter and Bud Sutton officiating.

  

Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

  

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to your favorite charity.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
