Robert L. "Bob" Warwick, 72, of Dawsonville, died March 6, 2011.

 

Born July 24, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to the late Harry and Ruth Warwick, he had lived in Dawson County for 16 years. He had previously lived in Spartanburg, S.C. and Stone Mountain. Mr. Warwick was a graduate of the Peekskille Military Academy in New York and served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 - 1963.

 

He served as an Aviation Electricians Mate at Jacksonville, Fla. and was involved in the recovery of the first manned spacecraft. He retired as a Technical Consultant in the graphics and arts field after 30 years of service.

 

Bob loved his part-time job at Black & Decker outlet store at the mall, where he was known to baby sit husbands of shopping wives.  His humor and permanent smile endeared him to all. He possessed a love for the beach, deep-sea fishing, the Tennessee Vols, family, social gatherings.

 

Mr. Warwick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville and most of all h loved the Lord and never passed up an opportunity to witness that fact.

 

His mother-in-law, Janis L. Peters; sister, Ruth Nelson; and a brother, Harry T. "Bud" Warwick, preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Connie Warwick of Dawsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Rob and Angie Warwick of Walland, Tenn., Ray and Brenda Warwick of White Plains; one grandson; five granddaughters; two young ladies he affectionately called his "adopted daughters"; brother-in-law,  sister-in-law and  nephew, all of Suwanee; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. March 13 at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville with the Dr. Jim Gaines officiating.
