Robert James Hood, 77, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County, died Oct. 6, 2012.

Robert was the owner of Robert Hood and Son Inc., a poultry house curtain distributor.

He was well known in Forsyth County and volunteered for many years with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include his loving wife, JoAnne Hood; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Karen Hood; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Dana Miles; grandchildren, Amanda and Clint Cowart, Justin Stewart; great-grandchildren, Baylee Cowart, Miley Cowart, Madison Stewart; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Ruth and Walter Smith, Sandra and Jimmy Ray Brown, Martha and Comer Trigg; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 8 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Ruel Martin, Horace Trammel, Terry Cowart and Mr. Wesley Walraven officiating.

Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
