Obituaries

Rigoberto “Rigo” Jansen, 20, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 8, 2017.


Born Nov. 10, 1996 in Guatemala, he had lived in Dawson County for the past eight years.


Rigo was a 2016 graduate of Dawson County High School, where he was a member of the soccer team and was currently enrolled at the University of North Georgia, where he was on the President’s List.


He attended Grace Fellowship of South Forsyth.


Survivors include his parents, Rich and Donna Jansen of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Kristy and Jay Welch of Cumming; brothers and sister-in-law, Matt and Jordan Jansen of Knoxville, Tenn., Alex Hosner of Johns Creek; nephew, Aiden Welch; various other relatives also survive.


A celebration of Rigo’s life was held at 11 a.m. Aug. 12 at Grace Fellowship of South Forsyth.


In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to One For Guate, Inc., c/o Central Baptist Church of Bearden, 6400 Deane Hill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919, oneforguate.blogspot.com.


Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
