Rickey Lee Porter, 63, of Dawsonville, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010.

He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.

He retired from General Motors and loved to travel with his wife, Frances.

Rickey’s best friend was his dog, Pepper.

Survivors include his loving wife, Frances Rainwater of Dawsonville; children, Bruce Rainwater of Flowery Branch, Gary Rainwater of Acworth, Pat Moore of Oakwood, Belita Piper of Gainesville, Tony Rainwater of Lilburn, Barbara Whetstone of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters, Connie, Bonnie, Roscoe, Charlie, Gary, Delphine; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11 at McDonald and Son Chapel in Cumming with the Rev. Rodney Owens officiating.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
