Richard W. Shivers

Richard W. Shivers, 73, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 21, 2010.

 

Born Nov. 11, 1937 in Atlanta, to the late Robert Edward and Sara Willcox Shivers, he had lived in Dawson County since 2006 having moved from West Palm Beach, Fla.

 

Mr. Shivers attended R.L. Hope Grammar School and was a graduate of North Fulton High School and Auburn University.

 

He retired as assistant manager with Norfolk Southern Railway after more than 30 years of service.

 

His brother, Robert Edward Shivers Jr., preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Shivers Mouton of Cumming; sister, Martha Shivers Albertson of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Brent Mouton, Allyse Mouton, Arielle Mouton; nephews, Frank Willcox Wingate, Edward Cartmell Wingate; best friend, James Sampson; various other relatives also survive.

 

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 29 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Jim Gaines officiating.

 

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
