Richard Pittman, 68, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 22, 2015.

Mr. Pittman was born March 22, 1946 and resided in East Atlanta until moving to Dawsonville in 1976.

A U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, along with his father he was in the poultry industry at Pittman Farms for 30 years.

A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, he loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

His father, Lee E. Pittman, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Delores Hay Pittman of Dawsonville, originally of Stone Mountain; mother, Fostelle T. Pittman of Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Laura Pittman of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Debbie Pittman of Gainesville; grandchildren, Dustin, Courtney, Amzie, Travis, Lily, Miranda; two great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Pittman, Andrew Croy and Justin Peppers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www .woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
