Richard B. Callen, 71, a former Rochester, N.Y. and Charleston, S.C. resident, died Dec. 3, 2013.

Mr. Callen was born on June 5, 1942, in New York, N.Y. He was a graduate of Syracuse University and the Georgetown Law Center.

He practiced law in Rochester, N.Y. until he retired to Charleston, S.C. in 2003.

He recently moved to Dawsonville with his wife, Susan. He enjoyed playing golf, boating, reading, Syracuse basketball and spending time with his four doting grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Susan; and his sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Kelly, Bill and Karen; four grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Donations in his honor were requested made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research, www.michaeljfox.org/get-involved/donation.html.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
