Rev. Lee Westbrook

Rev. Lee Westbrook, 87, of Dawsonville, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009.

  

Born Dec. 15, 1921 in Cherokee County to the late Ephriam and Adline Westbrook, he lived in Dawson County over 40 years, having moved from Marietta.

  

The Rev. Westbrook was a retired cabinet maker and was ordained in the Baptist Ministry in 1959.

  

He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.

  

His sisters, Mattie Sorrells, Rosalee McKeaver; brothers, Sherman Westbrook and Oscar Westbrook, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dessie Evans Westbrook of Dawsonville; children, Gwen and Alan Dameron, Annette Jones, Brian and Karen Westbrook, Shannon Westbrook, all of Dawsonville, Sherry Westbrook of Sugar Hill; grandchildren, Kelly and Tim Johnson, Woody Dameron, Amy and Shannon Mulkey, Kay Jones, Skyler Jones, Dessica Westbrook, Katelyn Westbrook, Riley Westbrook; great-grandchildren, Alex Johnson, Kali Johnson, Bailey Dameron, Josh Dameron, Cole Mulkey, Cayden Jones Payne; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at Lebanon Baptist Church with the Revs. Sam Rickett, Danny Cain and William Fausett officiating.

  

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
