Rev. Douglas Allen Collins, 71, of Cumming, died Monday, June 30, 2008.

Rev. Collins was a minister for 32 years serving as pastor of 15 churches in the north Georgia area.

He was a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church.

Rev. Collins was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Bertie Lee Collins; brother, Billy Collins.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Collins of Cumming; sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Wanda Collins, Tim and Dianne Collins, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Nicolas, Christopher, Patrick, Cameron and Alyssa; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Ruth Collins of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Donald Ramey of Dawsonville; brother-in-law, Floyd Chester of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 4 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Greg Rawlins, Ruel Martin, Daniel Hyatt, Bobby Trammel, Gerald Carnes and Mark Akins officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
