Randy Bennington, 69, of Dahlonega died Sept. 30, 2017.

Born July 22, 1948 in Sprague, W. Va. to the late Cecil and Thelma Bennington, he had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 15 years having moved from Cumming. 

Mr. Bennington was employed by the LoJack Corporation and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of Vietnam.  Randy loved his Lord and Savior and was very devoted to his family. He served as an elder at Chestatee Worship Center.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Bennington of Dahlonega; son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Mary Bennington of North East, Md; daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Zack Mothena of St. Mary’s; grandson, Colton Mothena; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Kay Bennington, Don and G.G. Bennington, both of Florida; various other relatives also survive.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at Chestatee Worship Center with Pastor Ricky Stepp and Sammy Harben officiating.

The family will receive friends at Chestatee Worship Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6.

Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
