Ralph Loyd "Bug" Jones, 78, of Dawsonville, died May 29, 2014.

Born June 4, 1935, in Lumpkin County, to the late Henry Pool and Edna Lou Jones, he lived most of his life in Dawson County.

Mr. Jones was formerly employed by the Georgia Forestry Service. Bug enjoyed trading in antiques, golf, fishing, spending time at the Senior Center and showing his talent with this homemade flips.

His son, Loye Jones; sisters, Margie Saine, Jeannie Burt; and brothers, Lee Jones, Lonnie Jones and Carlton Ash, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Christine Jones of Dawsonville; children, Chrystal Parker of Cumming, Barbie and Vance Thurmond, Scotty Jones, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Terra Parker, Kyle Thurmond, Kasey Thurmond, Karley Thurmond, Brendan Grindle, Mallory Jones; great-grandchildren, Trevor Disharoon, Lucas Romesburg, Lily Romesburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred Gaddis, Ruby and Jerry Barron, all of Dawsonville, Janet and Gary Pendergrass of Gainesville, Roy Saine of Dahlonega; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil Jones, Boyd "Bo" and Ruth Jones, Kathryn Jones, Dorothy Jones, all of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. June 3 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Russell Burt and Mike Owens officiating. Interment followed in the New Life Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
