Ralph Dean Fowler, 73, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 15, 2011.

 

Born Jan. 15, 1938 in Dawson County, Mr. Fowler lived 46 years in Forsyth County before returning to Dawson County in 2005.

 

Along with his wife, they owned and operated a poultry farm.

Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Veteran’s Alliance for 10 years.

 

He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

 

His mother, Beulah Elrod Fowler; and grandparents, Richard and Julia Elrod, preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his wife of 51 1/2 years, Velvie R. Fowler of Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Stacey and Audrey Fowler of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Jimmy Seabolt of Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Vicki Fowler of Murrayville; Godchildren, Janice and Derek Cameron of Glasgow, Scotland; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Gilbert officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
