Rachel Jane Higgins, 37, of Dawsonville, died Sept. 8, 2015.

Born Oct. 4, 1977 and raised in Forsyth County, she had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 11 years.

Rachel was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

She loved to fish, hunt and be with her friends.

Survivors include her parents, Mack and Emma Lou Higgins of Dawsonville; brother, Ralph Higgins of Dawsonville; aunts and uncles, Joanne and Cloyse Stanford, Joyce and Lanier Castleberry, Martha and Phillip Castleberry, all of Cumming, Pat Higgins of Dahlonega, Sarah and Harold Evans of Dawsonville; nieces and nephews, Kaera, Amber, Andy, Brittnea, Steele, T.J., Dwayne; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Sept. 14 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Higgins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to help offset final expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
