Preston Silas Worley, 73 of Cumming died Aug. 9, 2014.

A graduate of Forsyth County High School, he retired from Sears with 32 years of service. Preston was a beloved son, husband, father and "Papa."

He was a pillar of strength to his family, friends and church throughout his life.

Preston was a 6th generation member and Deacon at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Cumming. He enjoyed genealogical research and had done extensive family research, not just for his family, but other families as well. Quail hunting, fishing, taking pictures of loved ones and traveling were hobbies Preston enjoyed.

His parents, Glenn and Irene Worley; in-laws, Albron and Vonceil Gravitt; a sister-in-law, Lena Gravitt Anderson; and 2 brothers-in-law, Len Moore and Ronnie Gravitt preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patsy Gravitt Worley; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Nancee (Thomas) Worley, Scott and Amy Worley; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and John Nash; grandchildren, Matthew Worley (Daniell Pyles), Glenn Worley, Andrew Worley, Cheyenne Nash, Izzy Nash and Olivia Worley.

He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James and Doris Gravitt of Dawsonville, Harold and Linda Gravitt of Cumming, Carolyn Moore, Joyce Gravitt and Susie Gravitt, all of Dawsonville; several nieces, and nephews; a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. August 12 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with the Revs. Cecil Ash, Nicky Gravitt, Scott Sorrells and Dusty Holtzclaw officiating.

Interment followed in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
