Phyllis Shawver Deane, 74, of Big Canoe, died Aug. 25, 2015.

Born in Kansas City, Mo., she graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Deane; daughter, Meg and Jim DeVelvis of Marietta; son, Chuck and Beth Deane of Indianapolis, Ind.; brothers, Tom and Nancy Shawver, Vince Shawver, all of Kansas City; grandchildren, Missy, Addie and Paige DeVelvis, Will and Charlie Deane; various other relatives also survive.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Big Canoe Chapel. Interment will follow in the Big Canoe Cemetery.

Cagle Funeral Home of Ellijay is in charge of the arrangements.
