Patricia "Pitty Pat" Cavanaugh, 73, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 25, 2015.
Born Nov. 6, 1942 in Atlanta, to the late Rudolph and Lorraine Spivey, Mrs. Cavanaugh had been a resident of Dawsonville for 15 years.
During her working career, she spent 25 years with First Family Finance Company in Atlanta.
A very active citizen of Dawson County, she had served as president of the Dawson County Woman's Club and the Dawson County Arts Council. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and Blooming Idiots Garden Club.
Mrs. Cavanaugh leaves behind many dear friends in the community.
Her brother, Billy Spivey, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, George Cavanaugh of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Alice Spivey of Stone Mountain; nieces and nephews, Jay and Dana Spivey, Robin and Howard Hudson, Stacey and Thomas Blackford, all of Atlanta, Meredith Spivey of Washington D.C., Paige and Michael Brooks of Athens; stepson, Scott Cavanaugh of Birmingham; various other relatives also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 5 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service.
