Omar Bradley Orr, 65, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Dawsonville, died Aug. 24, 2015.
Born Oct. 12, 1949 to the late William and Emma Orr, he lived in Dawson County before moving to Jacksonville in 1994.
Omar was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all.
He enjoyed gardening and camping.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Virginia; son, William Bradley Ira Orr; daughter, Christie Orr; brothers, William Orr Jr. and Gerald Orr; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Hollaway, Linda and Charles Hamby, Brenda Hyatt, Elaine Layden; various other relatives also survive.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Aug. 28 at Highlands Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Following the funeral in Jacksonville, Mr. Orr was brought to Dawsonville, where a visitation was held from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 30 at Bearden Funeral Home.
A funeral services was held at 3 p.m. Aug. 30 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Hamby officiating. Interment followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
