Newil Kinnard, 69, of Dahlonega, died Oct. 13, 2010.

  

Mr. Kinnard was born June 4, 1941 in Dekalb County to the late Charlie and Elizabeth Kinnard.

  

He moved to Dawson County when he was 15 years old and remained until he entered the Air Force Academy.

  

After his service in the Air Force, he was employed by NCR for 32 years, retiring as a software specialist.

  

Newil moved to Lumpkin County in 1992.

  

He was of the Baptist faith and taught Sunday school for more than 25 years.

  

Survivors include his wife, Jean Kinnard of Dahlonega; children, Betsy and Willie Williams of Freedom, Okla., Nancy and Robert Williams of Kansas City, Mo., Allen and Louise Kinnard of Martin; stepchildren, Angela Jarrard of Powder Springs, Patricia Jarrard of Loganville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert "Bobby" and Susie Kinnard of Dahlonega, Danny and Ann Kinnard of Dawsonville, Eddie and Deborah Kinnard of Watkinsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Oct. 16 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Phil Gilstrap and Ray Prince officiating.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
