Nellie Garrett Martin, 104, died March 14, 2013.

She was born Dec. 5, 1908, in Old Milton County, now Milton, in Fulton County.

Nellie moved to Forsyth County with her parents three years later. She was the oldest member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Nellie loved her family and her church and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Her husband, H. Clyde Martin; sons, Morris Martin and Charles Martin, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Lanelle and Meredith Mason; grandchildren, Michele and Richard Picklesimer, Tonya and Howard Wallace, Marty Garrett; great-grandchildren, Jason and Nikki Picklesimer, Kristin and Ben Haney, Sallie Wallace, Cora Wallace, Maggie Wallace; great-great-grandchildren, Addison and Avery Picklesimer; daughter-in-law, Martha Martin; sister-in-law, Virginia Garrett; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 17, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny Orr and Richard Picklesimer officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
