Nelda Jo Allen, 66, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 13, 2016.

Nelda adored her children and grandchildren and was the best mother and grandmother on the planet. She had a green thumb and grew the prettiest flower gardens around.

Nelda could be seen sitting on her front porch, drinking her Coca-Cola classics, admiring her beautiful yard. She loved her sweet Jesus and taught her children to believe in him and to rely on him. She was always there for anyone in need.

Her parents, Linnie and John McGuire; and her brother, Bill McGuire, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Kelly Allen; children, Tammy McGuirt, David Allen, Greg Allen; grandchildren, Lauren McGuirt, Matthew McGuirt, Emma McGuirt, Cynda Allen and Gage Allen; brothers, Ed, Ronnie, Terry and Jimmy McGuire; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 19 at Antioch Baptist Church.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
