Myrtle M. "Nanny" Wright, 98, of Dahlonega, died March 30, 2016.

Myrtle was the oldest of 12 children, born Sept. 13, 1917 in Dawsonville. She worked many years at the Burlington Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega.

Her parents, Bishop and Pearlie May Mulkey Tatum; husband, Joe Wright; daughter, Mildred Wright; six brothers and three sisters, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Dewey and Shirley Wright, Helen Gaddis and Shirley Hemmings, all of Dahlonega; brother and sister-in-law, B.R. and Libby Tatum of Conyers; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Cleveland Miller of Dahlonega; sisters-in-law, Dean Tatum of Monticello, Totsy Tatum of Gainesville; grandchildren, Debbie and Jerry Lomax, Tommy, Ronnie and Michael Gaddis, Trisha and Bruce Abercrombie, Lynn Hemmings; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at noon April 1 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating.

Interment followed in the McKee's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville.

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
