Myrtis M. Ray, 94, of Dawsonville, died July 29, 2016.
Born Dec. 17, 1921 to the late Loland and Ethel Darnell, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.
Mrs. Ray devoted her life to being a homemaker and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Her husband, Alvin Ray and a daughter, Sherry Ray, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Ray, Janice and Gary Powell, David Ray, Jane Baugh, Brenda Ray, all of Dawsonville, Calvin Ray of Cleveland; sisters, Louise Kent, Gladys Bennett, Mamie Reeves, all of Dawsonville, Mildred Lowe of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Aug. 1 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Lee officiating. Interment followed in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
