Morris "Chick" Rider, 66, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 2, 2010.

  

Born Sept. 24, 1944 to the late O.C. "Red" and Geraldine Rider, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

  

For many years he was a cook at the Taste of Country and Burger and Shakes restaurants. Mr. Rider was an avid Bingo player and was of the Baptist faith.

  

Survivors include his wife, Patsy "Miss Chick" Rider of Dawsonville; children, Ellen and Jeff Mooney of Lawrenceville, Willie and Betty Rider of Cumming, Molly and James Lee, Roxanne Glaze, Tim and Lindsay White, all of Dawsonville, Tim and Donna Rider of Demorest; sister and brother-in-law, Rose Mary and Harold Bottoms of Cumming; brothers, Tommy Rider of Dawsonville, Hank Rider of Dahlonega; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Oct. 4 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronnie Fields, Harold Bottoms and Jason Moon officiating.

  

Interment followed in the Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
