Miriam Louise Gordon Adams, 85, of Dawsonville, died July 7, 2015.
Born March 24, 1930, to the late Warren and Ellen Gordon, Miriam was active in community and civic affairs for many years. She served as president of her children's PTA and president of the Junior Women's Club of East Point Georgia.
She was a long-time secretary to the mayor of East Point and also worked at Cluett Peabody for the head of security.
Miriam was a long-time member of Dogwood Hills Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, both of East Point. She most currently was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawsonville.
Her brother, Fred Gordon and sister, Sarah Ellen Gordon Sousa, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Walter E. Adams; children, Pamela A. Ison-Glover and Tom, Walter E. Adams, Jr. "Chip" and Louise; grandson, Robert B. and Danielle Ison; sister, Mae Jo Bowman; various other relatives also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Dawsonville, 900 Hwy. 9 North, Dawsonville, GA 30534, the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org/donate, or Heartlite Hospice, 163 Dalton St., Ellijay, GA 30540.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
