Mildred Stowers, 77, of Dawsonville, died May 10, 2013.

Born May 17, 1935 in Hall County to the late Herbert E. and Clara Bell Dill, she lived most of her life in Dawson County.

An accomplished seamstress, she was formerly employed at Sweet-Orr and worked for Russells Athletic Wear until her retirement.

Mrs. Stowers also did sewing for the public.

Mildred was a member of Etowah Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her husband, Elton Stowers; son, David Stowers; and a brother, J.C. Dill, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Deborah and Tommy Freeman, Regina and Frank Kreischer, Tim and Rebecca Stowers, all of Dawsonville; brother and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Nancy Dill of Murrayville, Carolyn Dill of Gainesville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. May 13 at Etowah Baptist Church with the Revs, C.B. Martin, Ronald Pruitt and Phillip Martin officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
