Michael Lynn Stryk, 66, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 29, 2012.
Mr. Stryk was born Aug. 1, 1945, in Rosenberg, Texas and graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School after which he attended the University of Houston.
He worked for a valve manufacturing company which transferred him to Georgia as an outside sales representative.
He also owned a cleaning business and managed a wholesale plumbing company.
After his retirement, he continued to work as an independent contractor. Michael's favorite times were spent with family and friends.
He always kept his Texas traditions alive, supported his Texas sports teams and enjoyed antiquing, NASCAR and the beach.
His wife, June Elliott Stryk; father, Joe Stryk; and mother-in-law, Nadine Davis, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Desire of Bonita Springs, Fla., Lance and his wife, Tina, of Callahan, Fla.; mother, Wilma Stryk of Rosenberg, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patrick and Eve Stryk of Marble Falls, Texas, Mark and Debbi Stryk of Richmond, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Joanie and Roger Rethlake of Richmond, Texas; father-in-law, J.D. Davis of Gainesville; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kim and Shane Nicholson of Dahlonega; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Christy Elliott, Kevin Elliott of Gainesville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lyn and Charlie Lovell of Gainesville; brothers-in-law, Randall Davis of Flowery Branch, Mike Davis of Gainesville; grandchildren, Kayla Harris, David Harris, Robbie Poole, Megan Poole, Chase Nicholson, Tori Elliott, Amberly Elliott, Kayla Elliott, Bailey Elliott, Gavin Elliott, Tristan Elliott; great-grandchildren, Avah Harris, Connor Harris; special friend, Cheryl Brock of Lawrenceville; various other relatives also survive.
A special thanks to Sherry, who provided the most heartfelt care possible.
A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. March 3 at Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church with the Fr. Neil Dahabliwala officiating. Interment followed in Alta Vista Cemetery.
