Michael L. "Mike" Walden, 56, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 27, 2014.

A native of McCaysville, he had been living in Dawson County for the past 30 years, having moved from Atlanta.

Mike was a supervisor for Georgia Power Company and had been employed for 37 years.

His parents, France "Dock" and Colleen Walden, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Joan Walden of Dawsonville; son, Michael Walden of Dawsonville; granddaughter, Gracie Walden of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Larry Stover of Ellijay; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Tony Lyons of Toledo, Ohio; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Mary Ann Conner, Roy and Gail Conner, all of Blue Ridge, Jimmy and Sunshine Conner of Texas; special friend and neighbor, Hal "Bones" Perry of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Stover officiating.

The family requested that donations be made to the Dawson County Senior Center, 201 Recreation Rd., Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
