Michael A. Estrada, 45, of Cumming, died July 10, 2012.

Michael was born on Sept. 3, 1966, in Savannah and grew up in Austin, Texas.

He was a 1985 graduate of David Crockett High School, where his No. 76 jersey was well known for his athletic ability on the football field.

He graduated from National Louis University with a Bachelors of Science degree.

He followed his father's footsteps with his career at the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C., and transferred to Atlanta where he successfully achieved his role as branch chief of the business compliance support branch.

He was a successful entrepreneur of his own landscaping company.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved sports, both playing and coaching.

In addition to playing on Good Shepherd's basketball and softball leagues, he coached his daughters' soccer and basketball teams with Forsyth County Parks and Recreation. He was also the treasurer of the Little Mill Middle School girls' basketball team.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Cecelia and Katherine; parents, Arthur and Rose Estrada of Buda, Texas; sisters, Jo Ann and Wesley Lowe of Austin, Texas, Linda and John Costales of Jasper; brother, Mark and Rachel Estrada of Austin, Texas; parents-in-law, Bob and Celie Urland of Dawsonville; sisters-in-law, Katie and Alex McClain of Cumming, Tashia Urland of Bahrain, Colleen and Sam Al Mukhtar of Vienna, Va.; brother-in-law, Robert and Kimberly Urland of Shreveport, La.; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. July 14 at The Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd in Cumming with the Rev. Frank Richardson officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
