Mattie Lou Morrison, 93, of Dahlonega, died Nov. 6, 2010.

Her husband, Alex "Bud" Morrison of Jacksonville, Fla., preceded her in death in 1977.

Mrs. Morrison was a faithful and loving wife, mother and child of God. She was born and raised in Cordelle and later moved to Jacksonville, Fla. where she met and married her husband. Together, they raised a family of six children. She lived in central Florida until 1995, when she moved to Dahlonega.

Survivors include her sons, Willie "Shink" and Tammy Morrison of Nashville, Tenn., Charlie Morrison of Dahlonega, Danny and Diana Morrison of Orlando, Fla.; daughters, Dianne Leach, Joan and Clarence Huffman, all of Dahlonega, Nena and Mike Gribble of Rossville; close family friend, Maurice Thomas of Dahlonega; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Dahlonega Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Rhodes officiating.

Dahlonega Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
