Matthew "Matty" Layton Melton, 10, of Dahlonega, died March 13, 2011.

Matty loved to collect coins and was extremely fond of trains, especially "Thomas the Train."

Survivors include his parents, Matt and Kathy Melton of Dahlonega; sister, Kaylee Melton of Dahlonega; grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins; various other relatives also survive.

A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. March 17 at the Dahlonega Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Bill Gordon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were asked to be made to the Brain Tumor Foundation at www.braintumorkids.org.

Dahlonega Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
