Mary McRoberts Walsh

Mary McRoberts Walsh, 63, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 17, 2011.

Born Dec. 15, 1948, in St. Petersburg, Fla. to the late James and Marian McRoberts, she had lived in Dawson County since 2003, having moved from Norcross.

Mrs. Walsh earned a master's degree in special education from the University of Florida and taught special education until her retirement.

She continued teaching as a private tutor after moving to Dawson County.

An accomplished pen and ink artist, some of her works were published and she was a member of the Heart In Hand Quilting Guild.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Kevin Walsh of Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Brendan and Jenean Walsh of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Maxine Edwards officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 1 p.m.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
