Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Akers Donald, died April 18, 2010.

  

Born Aug. 20, 1940 in LaPlata, Mo., to the late W.H. and Effie Akers, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 10 years.

  

She lived many years in Rye, N.Y. prior to moving to Alpharetta and then to Dawson County.

  

She was a graduate of Stephens College, Columbia, Mo., and attended the University of Missouri. Kathy was a former airline stewardess with Eastern Airlines for many years.

  

Survivors include her former husband, Norman H. Donald III of Dawsonville; sisters, Jeanne Bloom of St. Louis, Mo., Patty Harrison of Dawsonville; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Helen and Silas Smith of New York, N.Y.; step-grandchildren, Addison Smith, Alston Smith, both of New York; niece and her spouse, Lisa Bloom and Steve Darrish; nephews and spouses, Michael and April Bloom, Damon Harrison, all of St. Louis, Derek and Michelle Harrison of New Jersey; great-nieces and nephews, Joshua Darrish, Asher Bloom, Jackson Bloom, Samantha Harrison, William Harrison and Dylan Harrison; various other relatives also survive.

  

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 22 at Grace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mark Weaver officiating.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
