Mary Elizabeth Holder, 94, of Cumming, died Dec. 26, 2012.

She was a member of North View Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn.

While in Georgia she attended Foothills Community Church in Marble Hill.

She was a born again Christian.

Her husband, Joseph Holder; and a sister, Laverne Hodges, preceded her in death.

She was an avid fan of the University of Memphis basketball team and was very athletic.

She pitched girls softball until she was 63 years old.

She loved square dancing and ball room dancing.

She was an avid gardener, growing beautiful roses and vegetables.

She married her high school sweetheart at age 55 and they had more than 35 years together.

After retiring from Pepperite Printing Company, where she was an executive secretary, she and her husband spent many years traveling extensively.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Michelle and Richard Sissom of Cumming, Mike and Charlotte Boren of Ball Ground, Terry Holder of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. (CST) Dec. 30 at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis, Tenn., with the Pastor Richie Sissom officiating.

Entombment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
