Mary Ann Robbins, 86, of Dawsonville, entered the pearly gates of Heaven on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born July 18, 1934, Mary was raised in Texas where she lived until marrying her beloved husband, Joe. During her early career, she worked as a kindergarten teacher and homemaker.  She had been a resident of Dawsonville for over 40 years and spent many years working at both Bannister Funeral Home and Gold City Convalescent Home in Lumpkin County until her retirement. Mary attended The Church At War Hill, was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Robbins; son, Robert Robbins; and parents, Vaughn and Josephine Edwards.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa (Kim) Mills, Dawsonville, Tammy (Rickey) Tatum, Dawsonville, Janice (Mark) Anderson, Ohio, Pat (Tod) Carmony, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Patty) Edwards, Texas; sister, Martha Donaho, Texas; grandchildren, Josh Vaughters, Zach (Morgan) Vaughters, Jordan Vaughters, Toby (Staci) Tatum, Megan (Nathan) Bottoms, Courtney (Zak) Moore; numerous great-grandchildren; her wonderful caretakers at Ashton Assisted Living; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Don Allen will officiate. Interment followed in Dahlonega Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimers Association, www.alz.org.
