Marvin James Bennett, 77, of Marble Hill, died May 11, 2013.

Mr. Bennett was born March 27, 1936, in Forsyth County to the late Arlie and Vie Bennett.

A resident of Marble Hill for the past 17 years, he had lived and worked on McCloud's Farm in Silver City for more than 20 years, where he raised three sons.

He retired from the Dawson County School System where he worked as a custodian and was a member of Harbor Worship Center in Dawsonville.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Linda Bennett of Marble Hill; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Stephanie Bennett of Ball Ground, Tim and Kim Bennett, Todd and Kendy Bennett, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Callie, Ashleigh, Morgan, Mason, Matthew, Taylor, Chloe; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. May 14 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Shane Wehunt, Lloyd Chester and Chad Wehunt officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
