Marvene T. Crane, 91, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 8, 2016.

Born Sept. 22, 1925 to the late Leslie and Allie Turner, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

Marvene owned and operated Marvene's Beauty Shop and Dawsonville House of Beauty for 50 years and was also formerly employed by Dawson County Park and Recreation.

A proud and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she thoroughly enjoyed socializing and having lunch at the Dawsonville Pool Room almost every day.

Her husband, Wade Crane; brothers and sisters-in-law, Craig and Lois Turner, Floyd and Thelma Turner, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Lloyd and Joann Crane, Linda and Larry Grizzle, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Tina and Tim Costley, Leslie and J'Lene Grizzle, LeAnne and Frank Stowers, Lisa and Jeff Perry, Tina and Frank Brown, Dena and Brady LeBaron, all of Dawsonville; 14 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 12 at Juno Baptist Church with the Revs. Brody Hughes, Tim Biddy, Jason Hamby, Scott Sorrels and Dennis Bottoms officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
