Marjorie Vandivere Anderson, 83, of Dawsonville, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009.

Born July 24, 1926 to the late Worth and Ethel Vandivere, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Her sisters, Mildred Rogers, Eufula "Vandy" Williams, Sadie Houston, Kathleen Reece; and a brother, J.W. Vandivere also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, J.B. Anderson of Dawsonville; children, Curtis and Carolyn Anderson of Gainesville, Karen and Harold McCord of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Brooke and Carie Anderson, Whitney Anderson, Nathan and Jessica McCord; great-grandchildren, Grace Anderson, Samuel Anderson; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27 at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. Leonard W. Ridings, Johnny Eubanks and Bobby Whitmire officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Contributions were requested made to the New Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 2120 Perimeter Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
