Marjorie Stowers Bishop, 96, of Dawsonville, died April 11, 2014.

Born Sept. 1, 1917, to the late William R. "Bob" and Mary Stowers, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

Mrs. Bishop was a former teacher in the Dawson County School System and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.

Her husband, Arch Bishop; five brothers and three sisters; preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Gary Bishop of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 13 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gary Coffey and Wallace Payne officiating. Interment followed in Moss Memorial Gardens.

Bearden Funeral of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
