Marilyn “Tennessee” Edwards, 76, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 20, 2017.
Born Aug. 26, 1941 in Johnson City, Tenn. to the late Robert and Shirley Ball, she had lived in Dawson County since 2003 having moved from Asheville, N.C.
Mrs. Edwards retired as a nurse with Memorial Mission Hospital in Ashville after over 30 years of service. She was a devoted wife, mother and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Affectionately known as Tennessee, she was an avid University of Tennessee fan.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Gary Edwards of Dawsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Kent Edwards of Asheville, N.C., Michael and CaTrinna Edwards of Cumming, Mark and Jennifer Edwards of Dawsonville; grandchildren, McKale Edwards, Malia Edwards, McKenzie Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Olivia Edwards, Meghan Picklesimer, Jacob and Lizzy Picklesimer; great-granddaughter, Skylar Picklesimer; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Alan Bailey of Chuckey, Tenn.
Memorial services were held at 5 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Davis officiating.
The family received friends from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at the funeral home.
Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
