Marie Disharoon, 73, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 14, 2011.

Born April 22, 1937 to the late Hoyt and Alice Disharoon, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. For many years she helped her parents operate a poultry farm and she possessed a passion for collecting and documenting Dawson County history.

Marie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sister, Elvie Mooney of Dahlonega; brothers, Curtis Disharoon, Marcus Disharoon, both of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 17 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
