Margie Day, 70, of Dawsonville, died May 2, 2014.

Born Oct. 5, 1943, to the late Clyde and Azzie Garner, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. Mrs. Day was a homemaker who was very devoted to her family and was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Her sisters, Eloise Garrett and Clydean Day, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Junior Day of Dawsonville; children, Steven Day, Billy and Nancy Day, Nita and John Manterfield, Angela Day, all of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Elvin McConnell, Gail and Wayne Smith, all of Dawsonville; brother, Eugene Garner of Dawsonville; grandchildren, David Day, Jacob Herrington, Leslie Manterfield, Mackenzie Day; great-grandson, Steven Herrington; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. May 5 at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Flowers, Harold Evans and Rodney Pilcher officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
