Marcelle Mathis, 92, of Oakwood, died Dec. 4, 2014.

Marcelle was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Her husband, Claude Mathis; and her sister, Idell Mayfield, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Mimi Mathis of Oakwood, Dennis and Laurie Mathis of Madison, Ala.; daughter, Carolyn and Curt Rice of McDonough; brothers and sister-in-law, Eugene and Inez Chambers, Jr. Chambers, all of Dawsonville; five grandchildren, Julie and John Chapman of Flowery Branch, Amanda Poole of Custard, S.D., Brad Mathis of Oakwood, Camden Eades of Japan, Hunter Ceto of Suwanee; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at Salem Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Martin and Donnie Nix officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
