Malcolm Lamar Roper, 94, of Pavo, formerly of Dawsonville, died Saturday, June 6, 2009.

  

Born March 28, 1915 in Dawson County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Roper.

  

Mr. Roper was retired from Thomaston Mills and was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Dawsonville.

  

His wife, Eula Mae Evans Roper; and brother, Roy Max Freeman, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Julius Chastain of Pavo; sons, James McDuffie "Mac" Roper of Pavo, Sterling Anthony "Tony" Roper of Dawsonville; sisters and brother-in-law, Martha and Johnny Howard, Foy Hickman, all of Thomaston; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10 at the Dawsonville City Cemetery.

  

Memorials may be made to Harvest Baptist Church, Dawsonville.
