Mae Elizabeth Mayer, 85, of Dawsonville, died Sept. 24, 2014.

Mrs. Mayer was a loving mother and grandmother and a devout Catholic.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Dawsonville.

She was employed with the Salvation Army Headquarters in Atlanta for numerous years.

Her husband, Ormond L. Mayer Sr., and daughter, Stacy Mayer Prince, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Ormond L. Mayer Jr. of Gainesville, Neal J. Mayer of Canton, Mauleen Mayer and James Shirley, Tammy M. Robinson, Renee M. Bales, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Zachary Mayer, Spencer Robinson, Ainsley Robinson, Camden Mayer, Marriah Bales, Riley Prince, Chase Mayer, Austin Mayer and Tatum Bales; various other relatives also survive.

A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Sept. 26 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Dawsonville. Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church or Embracing Hospice Care.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
